The laws for photography are fairly simple. The artist is allowed to photograph most anything as long as they are on public property or have permission from the property owner and the content is not something that is contrary to the law. When the photograph has images of people that are recognizable, there are restrictions to the use of the images. The bottom line is, to use photogrphs of people in advertising or promotional materials, the person whose likeness is in the photograph must give thier permission. The standard way of doing this is for the person whose likeness is in the photograph signs a model release form. We sell stock photography and some of our work is included in promotional materials. For these photographs, model releases are required. That is why we offer you something in return for your permissin to sell your likeness to designers who are producing promotional materials. Like any legal contract however, all parties must receive some benefit from the agreement. That is why we offer free prints for a signed model release. Not all photographs we take are appropriate for stock sales. If you are interested in signing a model release we need to review the images before agreeing to accepting the release in return for free prints. There are 2 different model release forms. One is for adult models, the other for minors. If you sign a release, it is for the images taken during that day only. We are also frequently looking for models for different projects. If you are interested in modeling for us, we do only photographery that is appropriate for all ages and frequently travel to locations in Arizona and surrounding states for projects. This can be an interesting and exciting thing to do. The pay we offer depends on the project and time required. If you are interested, contact us to schedule a meeting to discuss the current projects. |
